A. Dosenko, O. Korchagina

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to reveal the features of the professional training of future journalists during the war.

Research methods. During the study, scientific views were systematized in accordance with the set goal. The search and bibliographic method was used to describe the theoretical basis; practical mechanisms of journalist training in higher education institutions in the realities of war were analyzed.

Results. The article describes the mechanisms and ways of the Department of Journalism of Taurida University, which provides professional training for future media professionals in Ukraine. The full-scale war has necessitated the search for conceptually new approaches to training future media professionals due to blackouts, the presence of students in gray zones or temporarily occupied territories. The implementation of mechanisms, methods and platforms that provide the opportunity to study qualitatively under any conditions has become critically necessary. The key methods of modern approaches are systematized, such as: the use of an asynchronous approach in education for students located in temporarily occupied territories or gray zones; individual study schedules; the use of digital platforms, etc., to prepare future media professionals in wartime conditions. Approaches to studying media literacy as a key factor are considered, platforms and applications that can be used during practical and independent work by higher education students during distance and asynchronous learning are systematized. The key perspectives on existing problems and possible solutions to them (asynchronous communication, project activities, digitalization of education, and emphasis on media literacy and security) are described during the implementation of distance or asynchronous learning, as well as the real possibilities of providing high-quality educational services through the competent use of existing platforms and applications.

The novelty of the obtained results lies in the fact that for the first time a comprehensive study of the forced process of transformation of the educational process during a full-scale invasion was carried out using the example of the Department of Journalism, which operates in a higher education institution relocated from Crimea – the Tauria National University named after V. I. Vernadskiy.

The practical significance of the results obtained lies in the possibility of increasing the effectiveness of training during the training of future media professionals.

Key words: training of journalists, media literacy, full-scale war, information hygiene, multimedia skills.
